Letzte Arbeitswoche / Last week at work

So. Das wars also. Man kann sich ja monatelang mental darauf vorbereiten und am Ende ist es doch … einfach nur…”komisch”. Diesen Freitag, 10. Juni 2011 wird der letzte Arbeitstag für uns sein.

So this is it. You can prepare yourself for months and in the end it is just… weird. This Friday, June 10th, 2011 will be our last official day at work.

Für mich/Kerstin bedeutet dies, das Unternehmen zu verlassen in dem ich insgesamt 7 Jahren gearbeitet habe. Wenn man dann seine Abschieds-Info-Email an die weltweiten Kunden und Kollegen schickt, ist es wie gesagt.. einfach “komisch”. Mit jedem einzelnen der -zahlreichen- Email-Empfänger verbinde ich doch individuelle Erinnerungen, Projekte, gute und schlechte Zeiten.

For me/Kerstin, that means leaving the company I have been with for the last 7 years. Writing the farewell-Email to the worldwide customers and colleagues is just… weird. With every single recipient there is individual memories, projects, good times and bad times.

Letztendes bin ich sehr dankbar, für die gute Ausbildung, die zahlreichen Erfahrungen, die vielen interessanten Menschen, die ich kennenlernen konnte, schlichtweg die Möglichkeiten, die mir gegeben wurden inklusive, und nicht zuletzt, der bedeutensten Highlights a) des Abschlusses der Berufsakademie in Mannheim und b) der (positiv) einschneidenden Erfahrung des 6-monatigen Auslandsaufenthalts in San Francisco, USA.

In the end I am very thankful for the good education, the numerous experiences, the many persons I could get to know, just all the possibilities I had at this company. Including, but not limited to, the significant highlights of a) the graduation from university of cooperative education in Mannheim and b) the (positively) dramatic experience of the 6 months stay abroad in San Francisco, USA.

Es wäre wohl gelogen zu behaupten, dass immer alles rosig war. Ich habe viel ge- und verflucht :-), aber letztendlich sind auch diese Zeiten Teil des Gesamten. Dieser Beruf, der Konzern, die Kollegen, die Projekte, die Kunden, die Reisen (und vielleicht auch die Leberkäsebrötchen vom Feinkost-Edeka) haben einen Großteil dazu beigetragen mich zu der Person zu “machen”, die ich heute bin!

Dafür ein aufrichtiges: Vielen Dank!

For sure, I’d be a lie to claim it’s always been bright and shiny. I cursed a lot :-), but in the end, those times have been part of the whole “process”. This job, the company, the colleagues, the projects, the customers, the travelling (and maybe the ‘special lunch’ from the supermarket next door) did a lot to “make” me the person I am today!

Honest !Thanks a lot! for that.

Letztendlich ist und bleibt Logistik ein spannendes Berufsfeld und wer weiß wo sich unsere Wege wieder kreuzen.
Ich freu mich drauf! =)

In the end (again), logistics is a very interesting and exciting occupational field and who knows when we meet again.
I am looking forward to it! =)
